Last week we had our first round of team changes on our Race and I’m so incredibly excited to be on a team with all of the men on our squad. Out here, we call this MANistry month(s), but Jerome doesn’t like that, so don’t tell him I told you. 😉 But before I take the time to introduce you to the men of I-squad, I wanna take a moment to bid a final farewell to my first team, the MOM’s.

As we stood with our masks over our eyes waiting for our new teams to be revealed, I couldn’t help but think through the time that I’ve spent with this team. From the moment that teams were announced at training camp, I knew that this group of people would steal my heart and that they did, indeed. As the months progressed, I could see the intentional hand of the Father at work in our lives both individually and collectively. The amount of growth that I saw in the first four months of my race can be largely attributed to the MOM’s challenging me to seek the face of our God by doing the same with their own lives. They fueled my hunger for more of Jesus; we wanted it and we went after it together.

Individually, these cats inspire me to be a better man of God.

Lindsey’s a dreamer. Her heart is after the Lord’s, no doubt. She pursues Him relentlessly and has a burning passion to see other people love Him because He is so good. Her heart longs for the day that every tribe and tongue will sing a unified Hallelujah to our worthy King of kings.

Alayna’s a teacher, both in the classroom setting and outside of it. She loves our Father and not only hears His voice, but teaches others how easy it is to hear Him when you’ll listen for it. This gal rushes to obedience when He speaks. what an example.

Alli’s a visionary. She’s always seeing with the eyes of God and declaring words of life over people. This woman of God claims and walks in the authority that’s given us by Jesus like no one that I’ve ever met before. WHEW.

Scott’s an encourager. He served our team with humility and excellence in ways that could easily go unnoticed, but we caught him. He’s a sneaky guy that won’t ever ask for the spotlight, but works so incredibly hard for the Kingdom. (I’m lucky that I get to be on His team for a little while again.)

These are my brother and sisters. They’re faithfully and diligently serving and pursuing the Lord and I’m stoked to see how He will use their gifts on their new teams. I could drag this on for years, but for your sake, I’ll save the tears. 😉

 To the MOM’s,

Thanks for loving me well, for challenging me, for praying for me, for praying with me, for feeding me physically and spiritually, for trusting me, for hearing me, for seeing me, for worshipping with me, for teaching me, and for serving me. You’re faithful friends and I’m grateful to know ya.

Okay okay. Let’s reminisce on a few of my favorite memories that we made.

  • Worshipping in the big yellow house in San Jose.

  • Smashing the buffalo week after week in Guat.

  • Sabbath dinner with Rachel and Nolo. (We miss yall)

  • Watching that lady run from a T-Rex in stilettos on Isla Nebular.

  • Candlelight dinners in San Pedro las Huertas.

  • “Donde está el pájaro?”

Y’all are my favs, I’ll say it

Seal our time together, Lord. Seal our memories. Seal it all.

I love you and I’ll see ya soon,

AWM
