July 25, 2021

When we woke up this morning, I realized that I wasn’t alone with my insufficient camping gear. Almost every other tent had taken on water, so we moved to find shelter in an abandoned stable. Lindsey says it felt like a Mary and Joseph situation and she’s not wrong.

We spent the morning praying together again about what the Lord would have us do in terms of moving forward and we eventually came to a unified decision to return to Omalo for a few days.

The decision was delegated from leadership to the team as a unit and it was decided that once we were unified in a decision, we would move in that direction. As we prayed, others would find peace in going either direction, but I couldn’t find any peace with moving forward on the trek, so it made sense. If everyone feels like it’s alright to go either way, but one person has a strong leaning to one direction, it makes sense to follow that inclination. We agreed. We’ll spend the day in Dartlo and tomorrow we will move back to Omalo.

While we were there, something settled for me with the snakes. God gave me a vision of that dead snake in the road and said to me “moving forward means death.” Justin had shared a story from the life of David when He thought it an honorable gesture to retrieve the Ark, but didn’t ask the Lord about it and ended up seeing Uzzah killed because of his failure to ask God. This confirmed everything for me. If we move forward, someone will be hurt, maybe someone will even die. We have to go back.

We broke off to do some ministry for the day and Justin and I went to make sure we could have dinner again tonight where we ate last night and when we arrived, we were surprised to find another testament of the Lord’s provision. The owner of the guesthouse gave us tea and pancakes at no cost. Such a sweet gesture.

During the day, we invaded a family vacation at a guesthouse and played card games, drank coffee, talked with some folks, watercolored, and gave prophetic words. All before dinner. Guess what they gave us at the family gathering… WATERMELON. COME ON LORD!!!!!

We chose not to brave the rain tonight and we opted to sleep in the stable that we’d found. We’re resting up tonight, because we’re back to Omalo tomorrow.

Or so we thought.
